Haller’s correspondence with Isaac de Colom du Clos, who taught French at the University of Göttingen, comprises seven long letters from Colom and one note from Haller. The focus is on the Reformed congregation in Göttingen, in which Colom was an elder, in the ten months after Haller’s return to Bern in March 1753. A letter of 1763 summarizes the church’s subsequent development. A secondary theme is Haller’s and then Colom’s guardianship of the children of Antoine Rougemont, Georg Ferdinand and Louise Dorothea Albertine. In 1749 Colom’s position as secretary of the Deutsche Gesellschaft led to a brief exchange.
