Christian Ludwig Scheidt, royal librarian and archivist in Hanover, wrote six letters to Haller in the latter’s final two years in Göttingen. They focus on the review journals (the Göttingische Anzeigen von Gelehrten Sachen (GGA) and the Relationes de libris novis) and the Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften in Göttingen. Three other communications, dating from 1752, 1755, and 1761, respectively, were not addressed to Haller but are also included here, because they directly concern him and were forwarded to him.
